About Bella
Founder of Bella Fearn Consulting
As a human resource, DEI, and political consultant she is committed to making Vermont an equitable, inclusive, and safe place for all people to live and thrive.
She began her journey as a climate justice activist and first-grade educator. She spent her days teaching and her evenings organizing. In the summer of 2020, She served as a racial justice and mutual aid advocate, dedicating her time to working in the Black Lives Matter movement and providing medical aid to houseless communities.
​After witnessing the injustices in her community and her classroom, in 2021, Bella joined the Peace & Justice Center (PJC) staff and eventually became Director of Programs. During her tenure, she played a crucial role in leading a transformative phase, expanding support for staff and consultants with marginalized identities, restructuring and expanding DEI initiatives and educational programs, fortifying PJC's operational
framework, and strategically securing top talent. Her time at the PJC stabilized the organization and skills. She is forever grateful for the lessons, experience, and community that came for her time at the PJC.
​After her tenure at the PJC, she continued her work as a political and DEI consultant.
As a political consultant, her work has included management in Emma Mulvaney-Stanak’s Campaign for Mayor of Burlington, Carter Nuebieser’s Campaign for Ward 1 City Council, and working as a support staffer for Council members Gene Bergman (Ward 2), Melo Grant (Ward 2&3), Zoraya Hightower (Ward 1), Melo Grant (Wards 2&3), Gene Bergman (Ward 2) and Joe Magee (Ward 3).

In her capacity as a DEI consultant, she specializes in developing and implementing strategic plans for organizations to establish equitable processes, foster a culture of inclusion, and sustain a diverse workforce. She diverges from reactive and disjointed initiatives driven by incidents or cultural trends, towards an approach that centers education, community building, and the goal of honoring everyone's shared humanity.​
Bella believes that the root of our collective struggle lies in white supremacy culture, which utilizes systemic mechanisms of oppression to hoard resources, power, and privileges. This has guided her work as an Activist, Educator, Non-Profit Director, Consultant, and Community organizer.
